Types of Courses & Pathways

A Pathways approach to learning allows students to view each educational experience as part of a larger picture.  With a career destination in mind, students are able to focus on the courses and experiential learning that best prepares them for the future while also enjoying the present.  It is not uncommon for students to shift from one pathway to another over the secondary school years as each grade allows opportunities for self-discovery leading to increasingly informed choices.  Though a great deal of flexibility and overlap exists between the pathways, students and parents are reminded to always check prerequisites carefully when selecting courses.

Each pathway has value and leads to exciting and fulfilling careers.  Pathway choices are about finding the best fit for each individual student – building on knowledge, strengths, skills, and interests.  A variety of Specialized Programs are available at Weldon to support main pathway options.  Please take the time to read through the Weldon Website carefully as you make your choices.
