BIOLOGY
Standard Level – SBI3UB, SBI4UB
Standard Level meets the expectations of the Ontario components and is completed in one school year. Higher Level exceeds Ontario expectations and requires a third course taken in year 2. In both HL and SL emphasis is placed on problem solving and practical laboratory work. Students also have the opportunity to engage in a multi-disciplinary project based on their own interests. As part of the IB Diploma, this course is widely considered one of the best university preparation courses in the world.
Prerequisite: SNC2DR, SNC2DB (60% for IB Diploma students; 70% for IB Course students)
Successful HL students may be eligible for university transfer credits.
These courses may be followed as part of a group of 3-4 IB Courses (Package Option 1) or as an element of the IB Diploma.
CHEMISTRY

SCH3U MUST BE TAKEN IN GRADE 10 IN ORDER TO SIGN UP FOR IB CHEMISTRY

This two-year course meets and exceeds the expectations of its Ontario components. This course will provide students with a rigorous academic and practical program of study. Emphasis is placed on skills necessary for the successful completion of investigations, laboratory work, problem solving, and projects. As part of the IB Diploma, this course is widely considered one of the best university preparation courses in the world.
Prerequisite: SCH3UR (60% for IB Diploma students; 70% for IB Course students)

PHYSICS

This course meets and exceeds the expectations of its Ontario components and is completed in one school year. Emphasis is placed on problem solving and practical laboratory work. Additionally, students engage in a multi-disciplinary project based on their own interests. As part of the IB Diploma, this course contributes to an internationally recognized university preparation program.
Prerequisite: SNC2DR, SNC2DB (60% for IB Diploma students; 70% for IB Course students) OR SNC1DB (90%)
