Students were invited by grade to attend information sessions on Tuesday, February 11 and Wednesday, February 12 during designated classes.

Guidance staff will visit classrooms from February 17-20 to assist students with their selections, and to answer questions. Students are encouraged to discuss their course selections with family and caregivers before these in-class sessions so that they are prepared to make selections with support from staff.

PowerSchool instructions and login

Please go to the PowerSchool login page and follow the instructions below to complete your online course selection. PowerSchool information can also be found on our PowerSchool Information page.

Instructions

  1. Log in using your single sign on (you use this daily to login to your device).

  2. To select, click on the pencil icon and read the instructions carefully for each group.

  3. Make your selection for each box and click ‘Okay’ at the bottom of the screen.

Note – If you see a green check mark you are not required to choose another course in that section and can proceed to your next choice. A red exclamation mark appears if courses still need to be selected in that area. If you do not see the course you are looking for, it may be on the ‘NEXT’ page.

  4. Continue to select courses until you have chosen eight courses. (Only students going into Grade 12 with sufficient credits are eligible for spares.)

  5. Click ‘Submit’ and then logout.

If PowerSchool does not allow you to take a course for which you know you have the prerequisite, or if you are planning to take two grades of the same course in one year, complete your course selection to the best of your abilities and email your guidance counsellor.

  • The compulsory half credit course in career studies (GLC2O) in Grade 10 will provide you with additional tools and opportunities to plan for your future.
  • Select English and math. The remaining six courses are based on your individual needs and future plans.
  • As you move into your senior years of high school, you want to be on the pathway that best fits your needs and goals.
