I.E. Weldon Secondary School (IEWSS) has a large number of clubs and groups for students to join. See the list below:

Antics

Pulling in diverse talents from the Weldon community to host an annual variety show in the spring. Antics is a long- standing Weldon tradition that celebrates the school community.
Athletic Union (AU)
T. Duncan and C.Vivian
The AU is a group of students who organize fundraisers and events related to athletics within the school. These events include the Terry Fox event, golf tournament, spirit weeks, ping pong tournament, the game of Spoons, the athletic banquet ,and much more.
Cheer Club
B. Skinner
The Cheer Club is for students who are interested in fostering school spirit, fundraising, and program development! While we are currently a club, we’re in the process of completing training to become a level-one cheer team!
Debate Club
D. Lazzarin
The Debate Club examines important issues using the standard parliamentary format. It is an excellent way to gain confidence and improve public speaking skills.
Electric Vehicle
A. Stanley and J. Batty
Design, build, test, and compete with single seater electric race cars. Builds happen all year and the major competition is at the University of Waterloo at the end of May.

Fibre Arts Club

The Fibre Arts Club encourages projects using crochet, knitting, or any other kind of textile crafting. It is open to all students, and beginners are welcome.
Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA)

GSA serves as a safe place for community and socializing.
Green Advocates
J. Hendren
The Green Advocates Team supports local and global, environmental and social justice events/activities.
Link Crew
S. Campbell
Link Leaders are Grade 11-12 students who go through a series of training exercises in order to be excellent mentors and leaders for the Grade 9s. They lead August orientation day and they help out with school activities throughout the year.
Robotics Club
R.Rawlins and R.Thompson
Students from Grades 9-12 design, manufacture, code, and compete in the FIRST Robotics world wide competition.
Rock Band
S. Brenneman
Musicians in Grades 9-12 practice and perform a variety of music from diverse artists and eras, including classic rock, pop rock, metal, and funk.
Student Administrative Council
B. Arnold and J. Burns
Made up of students from Grades 9-12, the Student Administrative Council, seeks to provide leadership opportunities to individual members while collectively serving the school community. Members represent the student body and their interests in discussions with the school administrators. Student Administrative Council runs school dances, spirit weeks, fundraisers, and supports other clubs/groups etc. Our goal is to build community and culture here at IEWSS.
Ski and Snowboard Club
L. Edmonstone, T. Sayer, and S. van Luik
IEWSS Ski and Snowboard Club welcomes all skiers and snowboarders to participate in our evening outings to local ski hills. We provide opportunities for new and experienced snowsport enthusiasts to get out to the hill to experience the joy of winter.
Weldon MUN Team
J. Hendren
The MUN Team teaches students skills like research, public speaking, debating, writing, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. The students usually attend a conference to role play delegates of the United Nations (UN). They simulate UN committees and learn about diplomacy, international relations, and current world issues.
Wildcat Theatre
J. Simmons
Staff and students put on one or two shows per school year (our “season”), starting in early October and usually presenting either by Christmas or in March/April. Students participate both onstage and backstage.
