Fall 2024-2025 City of Kawartha Lakes Dual Credit

Dual Credits are ministry-approved courses that allow Grade 11 and 12 students to earn credits towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) while exploring college or apprenticeship industry-specific courses. These credits count toward both the OSSD and a postsecondary certificate, diploma, degree, or an apprenticeship certification.

Students can earn up to four optional credits through Dual Credit courses. Additionally, students in Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) and the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) may gain industry-specific certifications through these courses.

Dual Credits begin the week of September 16th, 2024 please book an appointment with your Guidance counsellor if you have any questions about your schedule.

Please see below regarding the status of schools and child care centres within schools for tomorrow, Friday, April 4.

Schools specifically listed below will remain closed due to continued infrastructure and/or power outages. If your child(ren)’s school is not listed, it is open.

Note – if there are any power or infrastructure issues that arise overnight that impact the ability for a school to open as planned, notice will be posted to affected families via SchoolMessenger, the Board’s website (tldsb.ca), and social media in the morning.

Transportation information

Transportation is running in all five zones to all schools that are open, however, there may be disruptions to individual routes. Parents/guardians are encouraged to sign up for notifications via mybustoschool.ca and check for individual route delays and modifications.

Zone 2: All schools and child care centres will be open to students and staff and transportation will be running.

  • Wilberforce Elementary School – new

  • Ridgewood Public School

Schools closed in Zone 5:

  • I.E. Weldon Secondary School – the school is unable to open to students and staff on Friday, April 4, due to issues resulting from the mechanical motor burn out that occurred earlier today.
