Financing Your Future

Weldon is happy to announce two upcoming opportunities for students to learn more about funding their future:

1.  Grade 12 graduating students are invited to an information session on financing their post-secondary pathway during period 2 on Thursday, April 30.  Topics will include scholarships, bursaries, and the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP).  Presented by Trent University and I. E. Weldon staff, the content is applicable to students pursuing college and university pathways.  Funding opportunities for apprenticeship pathways will also be covered briefly in this presentation.  Grade 12 classes will be invited to attend.  Students who are at a co-op placement or on a spare at that time should reach out to their Guidance Counsellor to RSVP.

2.  A Service Canada representative will be available in the Atrium at lunch on May 1.  Any student can stop by to learn more about the Red Seal Trade Program, Canada Apprentice Loan, Employment Insurance for Apprentices, Canada Student Loans (the federal portion of OSAP), RESPs, Canada Learning Bonds and the Canada Education Savings Grant.

Information from both opportunities will be available for pick up in the Student Services office after these dates, or electronically from your Guidance Counsellor.
