Exam Information

I.E. WELDON SECONDARY SCHOOL

STUDENT EXAMINATION INFORMATION

 *** PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION CAREFULLY ***

 Examinations at I.E. Weldon Secondary School will begin on FRIDAY, JANUARY 24, 2020.  Please note that the entire examination period runs from FRIDAY, JANUARY 24, 2020 to THURSDAY, JANUARY 30, 2020.

 EXAMINATION PROCESS

 Students in all courses will write exams in their regular classroom settings with their subject teachers unless otherwise notified.

 All final examinations will be written from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.  NO EXAMS will be written in the afternoon.

Thursday, January 30, 2020:  Exam Reschedule Day: For cancellations beyond our control. In the event of a cancellation, all exams will move forward one day.

 ATTENDANCE AND LATENESS

  • Absences from examinations for reasons other than those properly documented will result in an exam mark of “0”.
  • If students miss an examination for a legitimate reason, a parent or guardian must call the school immediately (705-324-3585).  THE SCHOOL WILL REQUIRE FORMAL MEDICAL OR LEGAL DOCUMENTATION.
  • If students realize that they will be late for an exam, contact the school office immediately (705-324-3585). Upon arrival (it must be prior to the end of the scheduled exam), report directly to the main office where the situation will be reviewed immediately. A parent or guardian may be required to arrange transportation home.
  • All students must remain in classrooms until the end of the exam period.

 EXAMS WRITTEN IN STUDENT SUCCESS

  • Resource assistance exams will be written in Room 141. Any identified students wishing to write in the resource room (141) must make arrangements with their classroom teachers.

 TEXTBOOKS

  • Textbooks must be returned to your classroom teachers.

 BUSSES

  • All busses will arrive to the school as usual. Departure at 10:50 am sharp (shuttle bus at 10:40 am). No afternoon busses.

HALLS

  • No students will be permitted access to the halls during the two hour examination time block.

CAFETERIA SERVICE

  • The cafeteria seating area will be open; however, the servery will be closed for the entire exam period.

 CANCELLATIONS

  • If there is a need for cancellation during the examination schedule or busses are cancelled, all exams will be moved forward one day. An announcement will be made on BOB FM (FM 91.9 – Lindsay), on Twitter @IEWeldonSS,  or at www.iew.tldsb.on.ca.
