Grade 9 Subjects

Power Pack courses are as fast-paced as student progress permits, allowing class time for enriching ventures and hands-on projects. Student marks are not penalized by the evaluation of more difficult tasks.
There are FIVE mandatory core subjects for all grade 9 students. (A French Immersion course may be substituted for a Power Pack course.) Power Pack students must take all five at an enhanced level:

• Math – MPM1DB
• Science – SNC 1DB
• English – ENG 1DB
• Geography – CGC 1DB
• French – FSF 1DB

Every student takes eight subjects per year, so students also take an additional three subjects. To start fulfilling Ministry requirements, students usually choose
• physical education,
• one arts course and
• one further subject of interest.
