Language B - Group Two (Diploma students must choose one.)
This course follows the Ontario French Immersion curriculum with the added responsibility of two culminating tasks: a recorded individual oral interview; and two internationally evaluated written exams. Emphasis is placed on cultural communication within the Franco-global context. As part of the IB Diploma, this course contributes to a well-rounded curriculum that provides excellent preparation for success at university. Successful HL students may be eligible for university transfer credits. Prerequisite: FIF2D Standard Level French – FSF3UB and FSF4UB This two-year course meets and exceeds the expectations of its Ontario components. Emphasis is placed on cultural communication within the Franco-global context. Students give three oral presentations and a must record a culminating interview for evaluation. The two written exams include an original written piece of 250 words, as well as short answer and multiple choice questions based on sight passages. As part of the IB Diploma, this course contributes to a well-rounded curriculum that provides excellent preparation for success at university. Prerequisite: FSF2DR or FSF2DB (60% for diploma students; 70% for certificate students) *For 2012 graduates and later, a third written element of evaluation is added during the second year of study for both French and German, prior to the exam period. Standard Level German – LWGCUR and LWGDUR THESE COURSES ARE OFFERED RARELY AND THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE EVERY YEAR.
