Grade 10 Introduction to Business (Open) BBI 2OR
Basic business concepts are covered in a computer lab setting.
This course introduces students to the world of business, including the concepts, functions, and skills required for meeting the challenges of operating a business in the twenty-first century on a local, national, and/or international scale. Students will also be introduced to the concepts and skills related to personal finance, entrepreneurship, and international business, accounting, and marketing.

Grade 11 Introduction to Financial Accounting (University/College) BAF 3MR
This course introduces students to the fundamental principles and procedures of accounting, with emphasis on accounting procedures used in service and merchandising businesses. Students will develop an understanding of the connections between financial analysis, control, and decision making in the management of a business, as well as the effects of technology and globalization on accounting procedures and the role of the accountant.

Grade 11 Introduction to Marketing (College) BMI 3CR
This course introduces the fundamental concepts of marketing, with an emphasis on in-depth analysis of the influence of changes in the economy and global marketplace, trends and issues, and the impact of technology. Students will analyze the buying patterns of various consumers and the effect of marketing strategies, and will engage in marketing research. Students will also develop and present a marketing plan for a specific product.
Taught in the computer lab, this course emphasizes marketing strategies for small business that will increase sales and meet the changing needs of consumers.

Grade 12 Entrepreneurial Studies: Venture Planning (College) BDV 4CR
This course focuses on the application of entrepreneurial characteristics and skills. Students will learn how to develop a venture plan. In making the plan, they will consider available resources, analyse the potential market base, identify legal requirements and available financing, evaluate all aspects of the plan, and identify the management skills and technology that would be required in carrying out their plan.
Taught in the computer lab, this course focusses on creating a business plan for a new small business including the development of a website.

Grade 12 Business Leadership: Management Fundamentals (University/College) BOH 4MR
This course focuses on the development of leadership skills used in managing a successful business. Students will analyse the role of a leader in business, with a focus on decision making, management of group dynamics, workplace stress and conflict, motivation of employees, and planning. Effective business communication skills, ethics, and social responsibility are also emphasized.

Grade 12 Information and Communication Technology in the Workplace (Workplace Preparation) BTX4ER
This course provides students with the opportunity to further develop essential workplace skills in information and communication technology while working in a team environment. Using a project-based approach,students will focus on integrating software applications and applying multimedia software features.Students will expand their understanding of electronic business and e-commerce environments and workplace ethics.This course will prepare students for a successful transition from secondary school to the workplace.
